Edwin Fox Maritime Museum

Description

Hours: Open Every Day from 9am (except Christmas)

The Edwin Fox Ship is the last of her kind. Built in Kolkata in 1853, she sailed all over the world, bringing convicts to Western Australia and four migrant journeys to New Zealand. She is the last surviving wooden sailing ship to carry convicts and migrants. You can get alongside the ship and understand what it was like to travel under sail in the nineteenth century. The Museum tells the story of the Edwin Fox, her voyages, and those who sailed on her. We have a host of stories and activities, a great all weather and family friendly experience.
